  1. There are so many members to “The Club”. Those of us that survived such darkness. Where I was, writing about it was a crime and was severely punished! I salut your courage!

    • I wish I knew your first name!…LOL. But Leamuse, I appreciate your kind words. Loved both your blogs and am now following.

Sometimes life is not easy, even starting out as a young girl, but recovery, therapy, and my FAITH in my creator has taught me to forgive and enjoy my life! Well, and to advocate LOUD about these important issues that touched mine, and many others lives….

      • It won’t surprise you that I studied psychology initially to try to figure out what happened and the big WHY? Years of study and work have done much but I have had more real answers from my writing. As a well known author once said, “I don’t know what I think until I read what I’ve said.” – E.M. Forster
Perhaps you can relate. Stop by anytime and say hello!
        Merci beaucoup!

        • I can SO relate! πŸ™‚

Very much truth in that quote. The best advice I had received as a writer was, “write what you know and you can not go wrong”… So that is what I did.
I’d read about a woman in out local paper that she had shot herself at a Casino hotel room she was staying in on a bad gambling relapse!

As I read the article a tear fell off my cheek, because I knew her pain, Hell, I almost was her TWICE! I started my book about that woman, as she was the reason I started writing again. The start of my book is in honor of a woman I never met, but knew exactly how she felt with addicted gambling addiction. It was then that I said to myself that if I could just HELP ONE PERSON to not choose SUICIDE to end an addiction, to share my story of what I went through with this cunning disease, my book would be worth writing.

To my surprise, and a lot of “de-vine” intervention, it picked to be published by an awesome publishing group. I two had attempted suicide twice because of this insidious addiction, so I understood how dark, low, and HOPELESS that woman felt. No other person should have to choose this route to STOP GAMBLING ADDICTION….

And it was how I found out about the WHY…. Our crappy past sure has a way of screwing up our future! I have grown so much since I wrote and my book has published. As a matter fact,…..I just received yesterday, another 5 star Amazon Review! Not bragging, but very grateful that readers seen clearly why I wrote and shared my personal testimony with all to read.

As my friend Dustin said yesterday in his comments here on my blog,…”Even Family has no rights to tear another family member down just because we have the same blood or DNA.”

          That’s when I push the DELETE button!!….LOL.
Thanks so much for your thoughts!! Happy to have met you too!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ *Catherine* πŸ™‚

          • Family…ah yes! That is the subject for another time or many other times… Fortunately, for me, you understand that. As for sharing blood, I’ve been filled up with French blood ever since emergency surgery last year and this is my family and my home. Home, a word I understood as a concept but never as something that included me, that is, until I came here. πŸ™‚ bisous et calins (kisses and hugs) LΓ©a
